I think that it was very timely to listen to a report about social networking since it is fast becoming extremely popular among people. Social media has recently become very relevant to the people's lives because a lot spend as much as 6 hours a day browsing social networking sites such as Friendster, Multiply, Facebook, Twitter, etc. Some even become addicted to the sites mentioned to the point that social networking sites become a distraction to important work such as studying for exams or making blog entries for BA 180.1.

The report given by the previous group was very enlightening for me because I, myself, include browsing social networking sites as part of my daily routine. In the report, I was able to learn about the functions of different types of social media. With this information, I am able to try more social networking sites that I have never used before. Also, I was able to learn more about the advantages and disadvantages of using social networking, both in business and in personal use. The report truly gave me a broader picture of social media. I believe that people who constantly use social networking sites should have the opportunity to listen to such a report to know more about the sites that they are using.
